A public democratic school in Madison, that serves the entire state of Wisconsin

We welcome students statewide

Unlike other public schools, Milestone can enroll students from anywhere across the state of Wisconsin. If you can get to our school, you are welcome! We support family transportation needs with Madison Metro bus passes and a family-run carpooling platform. Students come to Milestone from as far as Mt Horeb, Sun Prairie, and Stoughton to access our unique school!

Land Acknowledgement

Milestone occupies ancestral Ho-Chunk land, ceded only under force. As a democratic school, we strive to embody a solidarity that recognizes the sovereignty of Ho-Chunk and  the 11 Indigenous Nations in what is now called Wisconsin. We acknowledge the contradiction of building and learning on occupied land, and we commit ourselves to learn by decolonizing our curricula and our minds, while centering Indigenous voices in our Milestone Community.

Accessible by Madison Metro bus

Every hour, Madison Metro bus routes 31 and 39 stop about a half a block from our front door, at the corner of Dairy Drive and Agriculture Drive. Both these routes originate at the East Transer Point.  Use the links below to access route information, or to plan your bus ride to and from school using Google Maps.

Milestone provides bus passes for all students who use the Metro system to get to and from school.
