This is the Weekly Schedule that Advisors will use with students during Milestone’s academic year 2022-23.
Course Catalog
We propose, develop, and approve courses to be taught at Milestone at our weekly all-student, all-staff School Meeting. New courses are posted at the beginning of each semester.
Food Program
Milestone has partnered with Second Harvest Foodbank to establish a food pantry right within our school building. Every week, Milestone receives groceries from Second Harvest to distribute to families who need it. In addition, any and all members of Milestone are welcome to make an appointment to come by our food pantry to get what you need! Contact Sean to get more info about participating in the weekly food distribution program, or for an appointment to drop by the food pantry.
Social & Mental Health Services
Milestone has partnered with Joining Forces for Families at Dane County Human Services to ensure all our members have access to the social and mental health services that they need. Contact our office with any questions or to get connected with JFF.

Community Accountability and Repair
Community Accountability and Repair is an approach to justice which promotes a strong sense of belonging, safety, and unconditional human worth as the primary response to harm, conflict or other social problems. It focuses on repair and healing. This work is guided by a proactive, 360-degree model of accountability, mutual responsibility, unconditional human dignity and respect.
Grounded in the view that all members of a community are worthy and interdependent, the practice promotes community building, self-awareness, empathy, equity and freedom.
By opening space for the long-term commitment to personal transformation and collective agreements, CARE works to address deep patterns of harm caused by institutionalized racism and to eliminate the disparities this it causes.
Using the Process
Using a process to repair harm, parties who caused harm, want to repair harm or support this process in conference or through circles, will engage in those practices. Anyone finding affinity with the values discussed in these processes can enter into agreements which are collectively believed to resolve the situation. Milestone Democratic School does not have a Principal, Superintendent, or District Administrator. Instead, our Design Team hires a School Leadership Liaison every year to help connect our members and the wider community to the Leadership Circle of our school. The Leadership Circle acts collectively as Principal, Superintendent, and District Administrator. The School Leadership Liaison serves as Complaint Officer, responsible for receiving formal and informal complaints, and responding on behalf of the Leadership Circle.
